The Biggest Cheltenham festival gambles!

The wait is finally over as the festival has arrived! You can bet on Cheltenham 2018 at Betfair and put your money down on your fancied horses. Day one looks like it could be a good day for punters with four short priced horses again headed by Irish trainer Willie Mullins. This brings memories back from the 2015 festival as Annie Power looked set to land the final leg of the four bankers which would have cost the bookmakers in excess of £50 million. However her final flight fall saved them but there looks to be a similar scenario in place.

The first leg is set to be headed by the Willie Mullins trained Getabird who is the current 6/4 market leader with Betfair. Getabird boats an unbeaten record since his debut and has put in two high class performances this season so is likely to take a lot of beating for connections. The second leg of the four timer is again trained by Mullins and is for many the banker of the meeting in Footpad. His jumping has been exceptional and for a novice chaser he looks to be the best around. If he performs as he has throughout his 3 starts this season he will take all the beating. He is the current 6/4 market leader with Betfair.

Moving on to leg three and the shortest priced of the lot in Buveur D’Air who is the current 8/15 market leader. He jumps with so much speed and class which is why he has been unbeaten since the Supreme Novice hurdle at the 2016 festival. He put in a stunning performance to win the 2017 edition of the race by 4 and a half lengths and with opposition continuing to disappoint he is likely to be banker material and one to add in all accumulators.

The final leg of the four is superstar mare Apple’s Jade. She is trained by last year’s leading festival trainer Gordon Elliott and will be looking to defend her 2017 crown. She is just 6 years of age but has become one of the leading lights in national hunt racing. In her 14 starts to date she has not failed to come out the front 2 on all occasions and has been victories in 10 of those. She really is so tough and a superstar for connections. She is going to take all the beating in the Mares hurdle. Check out the infographic below which covers some of the highs and lows over the years of Cheltenham festival betting.
